‘SASA-INDIA: A RARE SCHOOL’ – MAJOR GENERAL MULAKJIT SINGH
Major General Mulakjit Singh, visited Sahibzada Ajit Singh Academy (Twelve Grade Residential School) Ropar on the occasion of Lohri celebrations. He shared his experiences with the students as a school student. “Even being attached to the roots of one’s culture one can go to any height”, he told the students. When he saw the students following the same root at SASA-India he complimented, “A rare school in the world where the students are being attached to the Punjabi Culture and heritage along with preparing them for International Understanding, Careers and Peace.
SASA-India celebrated Lohri festival while giving its students a chance to perform on the stage, organizing the function themselves while involving their parents making them Chief-Guests so that they could also feel important with their wards and school. Through its students the Management honored various big personalities working for the social causes in the name of GOD but NOT for any name & fame. Among them have been Mr. Harmanjit Singh, Mrs. Tasveer Kaur (Canada), Mr. Hardeep Singh (Punjabi Folk Singer) and Lt. Col. Gurdev Singh Brar. The Parents of the students were invited to stage as Chief-Guests to honor these social servants. The programme started with Gurbani Path followed by various plays, songs & skits to highlight the social evils like ‘Unity is Strength’, Today’s Youth, Value of Time & Choreography (on ‘Sex Discrimination’ & ‘Let Live’) and cultural folk songs & dance of various states.
The Chief-guest highly appreciated the programme. The Director Mr. Sukhjinder Singh, Principal Rajan Chopra and Vice-principal Sudesh Sujati, (Mrs.) thanked the students and motivated them. The Function concluded with the dinner served to more than 1000 guests.
